DAY 01/APR 29: DEPARTURE MANILA: Enjoy your flight amenities on board.
DAY 02/APR 30: EARLY ARRIVAL ISTANBUL / ISTANBUL TOUR (D). Departure from hotel and visit to Chora museum which is famous for well preserved frescoes & mosaics. Then Blue Mosque, facing St. Sophia, famous with its blue Iznik tiles and unique with 6 minarets, built in the name of Sultan Ahmet. Afterwards visit Topkapi Palace, seat of the Ottoman Empire for four centuries, and visit treasury section. At last we will browse around the exciting Grand bazaar, a maze of over 4000 tiny shops selling gold, jewelry, leather work and fine carpets. Dinner and overnight at hotel
DAY 03/MAY 01: ISTANBUL (B,D) . Then we will visit St. Sophia museum is one of the great architectural marvels of the ancient world. We continue on to the Hippodrome, the sportive and political center of the Old City. Then we will visit the Suleymaniye Mosque, masterpiece of famous architect Sinan, built during the reign of Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent. Then we visit to Istanbul Archaeological Museum. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
DAY 04/MAY 02: ISTANBUL / KAYSERI / CAPPADOCIA (B,D) . Transfer to Istanbul airport early in the morning to catch a flight to Kayseri. Drive to Capapdocia and we visit the incredible Underground City of Kaymakli where early Christians lived secretly in order to survive and keep their faith. Picture stops will be given at the Valley of the Birds and at the foot of the Uchisar Castle. Afterwards proceed to the Goreme Valley to visit the rock carved churches hollowed out of volcanic ash. We also visit Avanos Village the famous local pottery and carpet shows allowing ample time for shopping in the afternoon. Also time will be allocated for the local souvenir shopping before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 05/MAY 03: CAPPADOCIA / KONYA / PAMUKKALE (B,D) . Following an early breakfast we will drive to Konya. Konya was the center of the Selcuk Empire as well as the city of Mevlana and his Whirling Dervishes. After visiting the Mevlana Museum, we will continue to Pamukkale.
DAY 06/MAY 04: PAMUKKALE / KUSADASI (B,D). You will tour the Antique City of Hierapolis where Calcareous hot springs descending over cliffs have created fascinating travertines in the form of white terrace and basins. Drive to Kusadasi to Selcuk and visit the House of Virgin Mary on top of Mt. Coressos. Then our memorable visit to Ephesus. Dinner and overnight hotel.
DAY 07/MAY 05: KUSADASI / EMBARK CRUISE / PATMOS (B,L,D) . Breakfast at hotel, check out and then viewing one of the Seven Churches of Revelation, the Temple of Artemis (One of the Seven Wonders of Antiquity). Proceed for transfer to Kusadasi Port By 1030 am, embark the cruise at the port of Kusadasi, Turkey. Depart sailing for the Island of Patmos, known as Jerusalem of the Aegean. Lunch on board. PATMOS: Arrive in the afternoon and take the optional tour to visit the Monastery of St. John and the Grotto of St. Anna or, wander round the main town. Depart sailing in the evening. Dinner on board. In the evening, enjoy the on-board entertainment program. Overnight on board.
DAY 08/MAY 06: CRUISE – HERAKLION / SANTORINI (B,L,D) . Breakfast on board. Cruise ship arrives at the port of Heraklion, Crete, the largest of all the Greek islands. Take the optional tour to visit the Palace of Knossos or, visit the main town. Lunch on board. Arrive in the afternoon on the island of Santorini, possibly the most beautiful of all the Greek islands. Take any of the optional tours or, free at own leisure to wander round the main town, enjoy the amazing views or, do some shopping. Depart sailing in the evening for Athens. Dinner on board. Enjoy the last night entertainment program. Overnight.
DAY 09/MAY 07: CRUISE ARRIVAL – ATHENS / DELPHI / KALAMBAKA (B,D) . Cruise ship arrives early morning at Athens port. Breakfast on board. Disembark. Meet at the port and depart on tour. Drive north, along the highway, passing the town of Thebes (Connected with the tragedy of King Oedipus Rex) and the picturesque village of Arachova, before arriving in Delphi, the Navel of the earth. On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, visit the archaeological site. See the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios and the Treasury of the Athenians. Visit also the museum housing items from the site such as the statue of the bronze charioteer. See the modern town of Delphi before departing and driving north, through central Greece to Kalambaka, the town nestling at the foot of Meteora. Check in the hotel. Dinner in the hotel. Overnight.
DAY 10/MAY 08: KALAMBAKA (METEORA) – ATHENS (B,D). Breakfast in the hotel. Drive to and visit 2 of the Meteora monasteries. Ageless monasteries suspended between earth and sky. Inside, see priceless historical and religious treasures. See the modern town of Kalambaka until departing back to Athens. Arrive back in the early evening and stop at a restaurant for dinner. Afterwards, transfer to the hotel and check in. Overnight.
DAY 11/MAY 09: ATHENS TOUR (Half Day) / AFTERNOON FREE / DEPARTURE ATHENS (B). Breakfast in the hotel. Proceed on half day tour of the Greek capital. See Syntagma Square, the House of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and the National Library. See Hadrian’s Arch and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Stop at the Pan Athenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896. On the Acropolis visit the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erectheion and finally “the harmony between material and spirit”, the Parthenon. Afternoon is free until departure for flight back home.
DAY 11/MAY 10: ARRIVAL MANILA: HOME SWEET HOME
